Brief Biography: Ravel, along with Debussy was one of the most prominent figures of Impressionist music. He was active during a period of great artistic innovation and diversification and would have benefitted from a great many sources of influence. Ravel believed that the term ‘Impressionist’ was exclusive to painting and refused to accept the description for his work.
