Brief Biography: Krieger studied the organ under Samuel Scheidt and later was the organist at Leipzig’s Nikolaikirche, succeeding from Johann Rosenmüller. Krieger also founded the Collegium Musicum in Liepzig. He composed and versified numerous songs the most famous of which is the hymn ‘Nun sich der Tag geendet hat’.
