Brief Biography: Morisot was a French Impressionist painter. Gustave Geffroy considered her one of les trois grandes dames of Impressionism. As a student and under the influence of Camille Corot she utilised the plain air method of painting. Morisot’s subjects were those of daily life and reflect the cultural restrictions of her class and gender.
