Brief Biography: Mendelssohn was a composer, organist, pianst and conductor of the Romantic era. He was born into a prominent Jewish family but was raised without religion and later was baptised a Reformed Christian. Mendelssohn was also a proficient artist in pencil and watercolour for his own pleasure. He wrote operas, concerti, symphonies and oratorios over a musical career of 29 years.
