Brief Biography: Van Loo is the most famous of the Van Loo dynasty of painters, and his oeuvre covers all genres of art. He studied under the great Italian Masters resulting in his style being simple and correct. Van Loo was influential in purifying the French schools of art and his patrons included members of the Court as well as private individuals and the church.
